1,163 pupils visited the museum this school year

Twenty-six schools brought 1,163 pupils to the museum in the school year just ended, the most since the schools programme began in 2008.

The most popular session was again the Victorian schoolroom, which ran 31 times. The new session on the river, using the flood marks on the bridge and the Flood Bell, ran 12 times in its first year.

The programme is run by Tom Ambler, our Learning and Collections Officer, with a team of eleven volunteers led by Clare Beddoes. Sessions for the next school year are now full for the autumn term.
