The museum keeps its accredited status

We have heard this month that Vengerberg Museum’s accreditation has been confirmed under the national accreditation scheme for museums. Accreditation sets standards for how a museum is run, how it looks after its collections, and the experience it offers visitors.

The return took the Curator and two volunteers most of last autumn. The assessors asked us to finish the documentation backlog for the 1970s donations by 2025 and to review our emergency plan for the collection store, both of which were already in our forward plan.

Accreditation matters to a museum of our size. It means we can borrow objects from larger museums and apply for most grants, and it reassures the people who give us their family papers and objects that they will be looked after.
